img_1831“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” James 1 2-3 (NIV).  While James was talking about faith in God it is true that trials in many fields (like running) develops perseverance and that’s how I feel at the moment.

Today I took my second run out after illness and did a slow 6 miles which was really tough and tells me that I need to rest for a few days before I go out again.  The first three miles felt fine which is a good sign but how to get up to longer runs?  Well, I have a feeling that’s going to be perseverance; persevere at the shorter distances and have faith I will be able to build up the distance and duration.

I don’t know of a better plan at present so at the moment, perseverance with faith is the only show in town!
